Life's a guessing game
Share
Isn't it wild that no human on this earth ever truly knew whether what they were doing would work or not? I mean, look at everything around us, the brands, the apps, the tools that we are using on our day to day basis have just come into existence out of chance.
If you would have asked the inventor, the founder, the entrepreneur about whether their plans or their actions will lead to a 100% success, they wouldn't have known. They didn't know whether what they were thinking or doing was going to lead them where we see these brands or these tools now. This stands true even today, look at AI, even the creator wouldn't have known it would become such a hype.
So my point here is to highlight that everyone on this planet is simply playing a guessing game. Nobody actually knows what's gonna work and what isn't. It's only after you have put in enough effort, have done enough trials, will you get to know what you did right or maybe wrong.
And that takes off so much pressure from our shoulders to always be right, to always wait for the right moment, to feel fully prepared, and most importantly to not doubt ourselves again and again. All that we have to do is try our best, to take the decision that seems best with the available knowledge and facts.
Sure it sounds easier said than done because there might be losses involved while taking any decision, maybe loss of money, or opportunity, or time, or energy. But aren't you always going to lose something or the other? Like while you are waiting for the right time to come, you are losing the time you already had to take an action. In this scenario you could have gained some experience or knowledge or even better understanding of how to take things forward from there.
What's important is you don't let your 'what if's' stop you from moving forward. Most of us will spend weeks, months, and even years contemplating whether to take an action or not. It's just lack of courage, that's it. There is nothing else that can stop any of us from doing what we wish to do. Your audacity always determines what you get. If you have the guts to simply go for it, the path will automatically start to become visible, and if doesn't then look harder.
I know it's scary sometimes because we are constantly thinking about the consequences, how are people going to react, where we will end up after taking the decision, or how is it going to affect the people close to us. It's all valid because we cannot take decisions in isolation, things don't happen in isolation, they always occur in relativity. So if you make a move, it's surely going to affect something or the other in the universe, maybe you can't see it in the present, but it does.
So for how long are you going to sit there, keep thinking about all the consequences that your action is going to bring? For how long are you going to tell yourself that you are not ready yet? Nobody was ever ready when they started doing something that mattered to them, nobody had the path chalked out when they started moving.
No amount of overthinking can surpass logic, if it seems feasible, logical, and even feels right to you, then go for it! Don't be afraid of the chances you took, be afraid of the chances you left behind just because you weren't feeling it.
Most of us simply wait for things to get better, we wait for opportunities to arrive at our doorstep, we convince ourselves to believe that maybe we don't want it that much, maybe it's not meant to happen, maybe we are not qualified enough, maybe we don't have enough discipline, and what's worse is we start undermining our own dreams, we start telling ourselves that maybe my dreams are not important enough, maybe what I am thinking is not even worth all the efforts that it requires.
And so we stay where we have always been, we never grow, we never see our dreams become a reality. Because you see, your goals, your dreams ask from you a lot. They ask you to show up every single day, truthfully. Show up even when you are in doubt, show up even when the circumstances are not in your favour, show up even when you don't feel like showing up, show up even after 100 people are telling you that you are simply wasting your time. All you have to do is show up.
Don't give so much power to your guesses that they shatter your confidence, don't forget that everything is just a probability, it's not reality yet. You have to take that step, you have to show up in spite of everything to see what the reality turns out to be. Everything you are afraid of right now is still just a guess, the only way to turn guesses into answers is to get into action.
That's all for this time!
