Why are we starting a blog at Hook?

Okay, so for context, I used to write blogs when I was in my first year of college which was during lockdown. The aim then was to simply put down my thoughts on topics which resonated with what I believed in. This blog is also going to be a reflection of who I am but through my brand “Hook”.

What I believe Hook to be, is an expression of what I aspire to be and also somewhere a piece of who I already am. The reason I opened my own imitation earrings brand was to simply build something which I can call mine. But it’s not just a brand to me, it is a lot more than that.

Hook to me is like looking at myself in the mirror, it’s like building something tangible from the intangible values and qualities that lie within me. It’s like, who I am and what I believe in is suddenly visible to the world. And I want to make everyone feel like that, especially women who are constantly reshaping themselves and losing their authenticity so as to become more digestible to the world.

I want Hook to be a reminder to these women that the world needs more of who you really are. And whenever you wear these earrings, may it remind you that you don’t have to change for anyone else. Let your style be a reminder that the ability to influence things around you has always been within you, that your power doesn’t come from any external means, but is a form of realisation.

Let the world see more of who you are and it can be through any form, for me it is through my business and through my obsession of buying earrings for myself. For you it can be through anything, through painting, through pottery, through cooking, through writing. And maybe that’s what Hook can be to you, your means of expressing who you truly are.

Through this blog I want to share our journey of becoming, growing, and simply being true to ourselves. Though I will be active on my Instagram page as usual, this blog is for sharing things which are below the surface and to gently shape us into becoming who we want to be.
